LaserPecker LP1 Pro - Pocket Diode Laser Engraver

This later laser is ready to go out of the box. Extremely simple to use and you get a quality Engraving.

The LP1Pro connects with iPhones and iPads via Bluetooth. It uploads quickly and reliably using the original LaserPecker App. (Don’t bother with the Design Space App which is for the bigger machines.
Competitor’s small lasers have problems using Apple’s implementation of bluetooth causing slow and often failed uploads.
This is a low powered unit but it works well on wood and leather. If you want it to etch deeper you can specify the number of passes and just let it run. Just don’t expect it to cut through plywood. The picture shows a maple block etched about 2 mm deep in 12 passes. It is used to emboss leather.

The LP1 Pro is an excellent compact machine. I have mine mounted on my drill press with a magswitch so that I could have a solid adjustable stand in my very small workshop.
The original Laserpecker APP (both iOS and Android) is quite basic but works well. Do your artwork or photo cropping using your other programs and then import the JPG or PNG into the Laserpecker app. The Clip Art file is small but they work. G-code is excellent on suitable images, making this my go-to APP for G-code jobs.

The laserpecker Design Space APP is more sophisticated and has more features and more Clip Art images. There are some issues that I hope they correct however. Clip Art images consisting of only thin outlines do not upload and burn properly. The preview shows where it will etch but when you run it, it scribbles in the lower left corner or on the floor some place. If you FILL it or choose a more solid clip art it works. You can also RASTERIZE the line clip art, but it will be faint. The same goes for the G-code and OUTLINE features.
I like the curved text feature. I can place it on a Clip Art banner, group it and rasterize it and it does a good job. I just use the original APP if I want to create a G-code image.

I use mine to etch text into 20 x 100mm maple bocks as stamps to emboss leather straps.
It can go 1-2 mm deep. I just set it for 8-10 passes and let it run. If you want the text 90mm long and you crop it tightly you can set the size to “90” and it comes out exactly 90mm.

Other machines and their APPs have problems uploading large files via iOS Bluetooth and work better with Android phones and tablets, but Laserpecker seems to have this under control and both iOS and Android work properly.
