Great compact laser engraver that is very easy to use.
High quality engravings. This is my first engraver and it only took me about 5 minutes to learn to use. Not the fastest engraver though, expect it to take about an hour fir high quality burns.
Easy to use straight out of the box, awesome little laser. Highly recommend
I have only had it a few days but the quality is great. This is my first laser, easy to use on wood which will be my primary use. App is pretty easy to use.
Easy setup, did its thing well
It arrived today from WEBSITE. This is a TOY laser, but it is quite capable. It is a galvo laser that runs off of a typical phone charger power supply and a USB-A to USB-C cord. You connect to it through your smart phone app, and a bluetooth connection. I struggled a bit to connect. The process is not obvious, but I was able to link the laser to my iPhone 14 PRO MAX.
So the phone app has very limited design creation capabilities, but evidently you can upload an .jpg file to the phone, and send it directly to the LaserPecker. You can also take a photo of something or someone, and the app changes it into a halftone black and white image. You can take a photo with your phone, adjust the brightness and contrast, etc. BEFORE loading it into the LaserPecker app for better results.
It is not a fast laser. However, I was surprised to watch is CARVE into birch plywood to a depth that can easily be felt with your finger. I didn't think it could produce THAT much power. I am still experimenting with it. I will do my company logo next, and maybe record it for your amusement.
The base model comes with a small tripod with three leg segments in each leg. Cut height is achieved by manually sliding out the legs enough to achieve the 200mm vertical distance between the laser head and the material surface. I didn't like that. If the focal length MUST be 200 mm, then make a weighted base with a premeasured boom arm that you snap together and place onto a table surface with some vertical slide capability to compensate for material thickness. A weighted metal base with a vertical and horizontal stainless steel rod and some thumb screws to lock it into place would be better than this tripod.
All in all, this will be a fun little TOY to play with. The price was right, and if you email the company with a photo or video of you using the laser, they will send you a nifty padded zipper case for the laser as a thank you.
I see this more conveniently stored in a small Pelican or Harbor Freight case with the foam inserts, for the laser, the tripod or base mount, the 200mm wooden ruler that comes with it, the USB cord, and the ever important laser safety glasses (Blue Blockers LIVE!) Maybe there would be enough room for a rechargeable Gel-Cel battery so an AC power source would not be needed! Then you can burn your mark onto picnic tables and park benches with ease.
Day one: I do not regret my purchase!
This machine works great! We love the ease of use and accuracy!
It's a pretty user friendly item.
For the price you can't beat it.
I have been eyeing a laser engraver for a while. I wanted something small/portable so I do some engraving outdoor and not worry too much about the smoke.
It's quite easy to setup. I got my first engraving done INCORRECTLY because I was too excited and didn't set the right material and burned a hole. But getting there was so easy and fast. Next thing I know I'm engraving pencils and wooden trinkets.
One thing I wish it had was a special setting in the app that would run through the all the settings like power and depth. So we can easily get a reference on the material being used. Maybe it's there, but I haven't found it yet.
Update: so far super good. Made a stand for it and engraved this way is up so I don't put things upside down. The stand help "auto level" as well. It even engraved my water bottle. Just had to use a dry erase marker so the laser caught. 3-5 passes is necessary though. Clean with a melamine sponge (aka Mr clean sponge)
I make custom rings and always package them in very nice wooden boxes for my customers.
I wanted to engrave my logo on the boxes so I gave this little laser a try
I was truly shocked at how simple and easy it was to assemble it and get it up and running.
It took about a 1/2 hour and I had a perfectly engraved box.
VERY IMPRESSED!
